Shannon Robinson is the author of the short story collection The Ill-Fitting Skin, winner of the Press 53 Award for Short Fiction in 2023. Her stories have appeared in The Iowa Review, Gettysburg Review, Water-Stone Review, Nimrod, failbetter, and Joyland. She has received Nimrod’s Katherine Anne Porter Prize for Fiction, a Hedgebrook Fellowship, a Sewanee Scholarship, as well as grants from the Elizabeth George Foundation, the Canada Council for the Arts, and an Independent Artist Award from the Maryland Arts Council. Robinson has been a writer in residence at the Interlochen Arts Academy; she has also taught fiction and nonfiction at Washington University in St. Louis and through Stanford University’s School of Continuing Studies.
