Sam Niven is a second-year poetry student in the Writing Seminars. They received the Elizabeth K. Moser Fellowship in Poetry Studies in 2023 and the Ethel Lowry Handley Prize from the Academy of American Poets in 2021, and their work was recently published in the 2023 Best New Poets anthology. Sam lives in Baltimore with their partner, two cats, and thirty-nine houseplants.
