The Writing Seminars in Best American Poetry

THE BEST AMERICAN POETRY 2025, ed. Terence Winch

This year’s volume of The Best American Poetry has hit the shelves, and the book is filled with Writing Seminars alumni, faculty, and friends. Among the poems selected for the 2025 edition, three are by graduates of the Writing Seminars: “Annunciation” by David Beaudouin, “The Ring” by Armen Davoudian,” and “Well Water” by Chris Mason. Associate Teaching Professor Bruce Snider’s poem “Trio” marks his second appearance in the Best American Poetry series. The Hopkins Review is represented in the anthology by Davoudian’s poem along with “A Letter from Rome” by Morri Creech, which were both originally published in THR’s pages. And longtime Writing Seminars hallmate Donald Berger––a Lecturer in JHU’s University Writing Program––makes an appearance with his poem “Uncle Sadness.”

Congratulations to all of the selected poets, editors, and journals!
