External judge Tomás Q. Morin has selected Vivian Sun’s poem “Baby” as the winner of this year’s Laureen Rita Schipsi Poetry Prize, the Writing Seminars’ selection for the University & College Poetry Prizes of the the Academy of American Poets. The Schipsi Prize is for graduating seniors.

Morin is an award-winning poet whose own honors include a 2022 Guggenheim Fellowship. His recent collection of poems, Machete, was published last year by Knopf. Sun’s poem will be published on the Academy of American Poetry website later this year.
