Mary Terrier, M.F.A. ’17, Receives Elizabeth George Foundation grant for 2020

The Writing Seminars is happy to announce that Mary Terrier has won an Elizabeth George Foundation grant for 2020.  The grant will support the completion of a novel and a collection of short stories.

The Elizabeth George Foundation makes artistic grants to unpublished fiction writers, to poets, to emerging playwrights and to organizations benefiting disadvantaged youth.

Mary Terrier is a writer from Austin, Texas. Her fiction has been published in The Paris Review, Kenyon Review, and Pleiades. She was the 2018-2019 Carl Djerassi Fiction Fellow at the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing, and is currently the 2020 Dobie Paisano Fellow, sponsored by the University of Texas at Austin and the Texas Institute of Letters.
