J.P. Grasser, M.F.A. ’14, and Richie Hofmann, M.F.A. ’14, Chosen as Wallace Stegner Fellows

Congratulations to Writing Seminars graduates J.P. Grasser and Richie Hofmann, both MFA graduates of 2014, on being chosen as 2017-2019 Wallace Stegner Fellows in Poetry. The Stegner program, which selects 5 poets and 5 fiction writers annually, offers early-career writers of exceptional promise two years to develop their work at Stanford University, free of any curricular requirements other than weekly attendance at a workshop with Stanford creative writing faculty.

J.P. Grasser is a doctoral student in Literature & Creative Writing at the University of Utah. His work has appeared in AGNI, Best New Poets, Cincinnati Review, West Branch Wired, The Journal, and Ninth Letter Online.

Richie Hofmann is the author of Second Empire (Alice James, 2015.) His work has appeared in the New YorkerKenyon Review, The New RepublicPloughsharesNew England Review, and Poetry. He has received a Pushcart Prize and a Ruth Lilly Fellowship.
